"Coach b" has coached for over 15 years in both group and individual settings. She has coached age group swimming, high school track and field and collegiate triathlon, cycling and U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Team. As a Retul certified bike fitter, certified Personal Trainer and certified Metabolic technician she is able understanding and fine tune her athletes. Anne Johnson, PhD, Youth Tri Coach
Anne discovered running while working on her BS at Cornell University in the early 1990’s, and was a Tricat as graduate student in systems and industrial engineering at the U of A in the early 2000’s. She has raced in many triathlons, countless running races (including 12 marathons), and one grueling season of road cycling. After becoming a mom, she discovered free weights and became a Russian Kettlebell Challenge Level 2 instructor. While still serving part-time as an officer in the Air Force Reserve, Anne left her corporate engineering job a few years ago to spend more time on her real estate investment business and her two budding triathlete kids. She is a former CrossFit gym owner and trainer, and now enjoys the more mellow pace of coaching the next generation of triathletes on the youth team.
Lisa Ribes-Roberts -Youth Tri Coach at JCC
Lisa has been an athlete all her life. Now a common sight on the triathlon, cycling and running podium at competitions, she is culminating years of hard work and dedication and turning it into results. This leaves only the sky as her limit.
Born in Illinois, Lisa was the only distance runner in her family. With the help of her track coach/history teacher, she created a cross country team for Gillespie High School so she could compete. She raced solo for a few years until she convinced others to join. Because of her talent, dedication and drive to excel she received an athletic scholarship as an undergraduate college student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Lisa moved to Tucson, Arizona to pursue her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture (University of Arizona) and embraced the active triathlon, cycling and running community there. With a top USA Triathlon ranking as an age group athlete, winning and setting records at challenging courses, she became a professional triathlete in 2009. Lisa is a long distance triathlon specialist and her strengths are her bike/run combination; she often is the fastest run or bike split of the professional women.
Lisa truly believes in community, honesty and integrity. She has taught bicycle safety classes as a League Cycling Instructor, volunteers for Excell Tri Coaching/Purple Minions Youth Triathlon Club, local events and takes a great interest in helping people of all ages lead active, healthy lifestyles. She is open, approachable, kind, hard-working, tireless, fair and is a fierce friend. Married to Jon Roberts in 2013, she is also a registered Landscape Architect and co-owns Wheat Design Group, a design firm in Tucson, Arizona. In addition, she takes a few weeks in the summer to be a European cycling guide for Reilly Cycling Tours.
Karen Quigley, LMFT, BCPC, BCC, ACC, Excell Youth & Adult services
A human development specialist for 25 years, Karen has been a licensed family therapist since 1999 and has helped people from a variety of backgrounds and experience create the lives they most deeply desire. Karen is a particularly passionate about health and wellness. She guides youth athletes to enhance their sport performance. Her hobbies include completing in Triathlons and has recently completed her first Xterra Worlds triathlon.
Joanie Rogucki, RDN of for Excell Youth and Adult Programs
Joanie is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a dietetics degree and she is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She is a school Nutrition Program Specialist and Kids Eat Right member. She provides nutrition education to youth groups as well as helping kids develop and align their nutrient needs. Joanie's goal is to put the fun in "Eating Healthy"
Clark Reeves- Youth Head Coach for Purple Minions
Clark has been an active member of the Tucson community for over 33 years and has a lovely wife of 29 years. He is a small business owner of Master Faux LLC, an artistic finishes company and been a part of the youth development programs for local schools districts and churches (Youth for Christ). He served on the board for 12 years for the Sonoran Glass School. He has participated and coached others in triathlons for the last 5 years and enjoys sharing his experience and joy with the youth of today.
Robin Kremer- Head Coach of Excell Tri Coaching
USA Triathlon Level I Coach & Youth and Juniors Triathlon Coach, Exercise Physiologist and experience Triathlete. Robin began coaching in high school when she assisted with the Michigan swimming Team in 1985. While getting her Exercise Physiology degree from the University of Toledo and then her Massage degree at the Humanities Center in Tampa FL, she continued to coach at the local YMCA.
In 2013, she decided to turn her passion from 19 years in the hospitality industry to the Triathlon community and started her company, Excell Tri Coaching. In 2015, the company expanded and added coaching for children and groups. She continue to create and develop new relationships the local Triathlon community and feel this is a way to pay it forward.
As an athlete, Robin completed in her first Triathlon 1994 in Clermont, FL which was where her love for the started and has competed in all levels of Triathlon and Xterra Racing and is added Aqua Bikes, Time Trial Cycling and Road Racing. With her experience and love for the sport she paves the way for the future. In 2015, as an age group, she placed 1st overall 6/8 race with a 2nd place AG in Aqua Bike Nationals 45-49, is Series Champion for 20K Time Trail Cotton Wood, is ranked 2 in USA Aquabike National Ranking and named Athlete of the year for Hits triathlon Series in both the Sprint and Half distance Aquabikes.
